What to expect from a newborn photoshoot

Congratulations on this exciting time of welcoming your little one into the world!

Pregnancy is such a busy time with lots of things to do and plan for, if you love my style of photography and want to get booked in, I would recommend booking in your session after you have had your 20 week scan. Within the booking process you will be asked what your due date is, so I know roughly when you will be coming to me, it doesn't matter if baby is early or late, contact me when they have arrived and we will get a firm date booked in for your newborn session.

The newborn session will ideally take place before baby is three weeks old, the first few weeks are when baby is super sleepy and squishy and I can create the beautiful curled up newborn images. These sessions are held Monday-Friday, however, if you require a weekend please let me know and I will try to accommodate where possible.

Our newborn photoshoot will take place in my home studio in Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire, where I have a beautiful selection of wraps, blankets and props. The session will last anywhere up to four hours, I like to be extremely baby led and the timings allow for feeding, changing and ensure we create the most relaxing experience possible for you and for baby.

I always encourage families to have parent images, I know it can feel like a time where you don't want to get behind the camera, but trust me, you will treasure these images. If you choose to have parent shots, I will do those at the end of the session. I am always more than happy to do sibling images as well, from my experience the best way to do these is to book a separate session for family and sibling shots, as children tend to get very bored in a full newborn session and by the end want to do anything but have their photos taken!

Booking your newborn photoshoot
Our newborn photoshoot is best for babies aged between ten days old and three weeks.
The session will last up to four hours and will include:

A fully edited gallery to choose your image package from.

To secure your session we take a non-refundable payment of £40, which is payable at the time of booking. Please note, this does not include any digitals or prints, it just covers your time in the studio. Please see image package options below for pricing.

Once you have booked I will email a newborn session preparation guide on what to expect on the day.

Image Collections
Once you have had your newborn photoshoot, I will edit the images. My standard turn around is up to three weeks, often I will be able to do this quicker, depending on my current workload. Once I have edited your images, I will email you with a link to a secure online gallery. You will view watermarked images and you can from there decide on which image package from the below you would like to purchase. Once you have purchased a package you will be able to download the images you have chosen and they will be watermark free and you will be able to print them as much as you like. All packages include prints, which will be sent on to you as soon as I receive them.

My 1st Year Package
There are so many beautiful milestones within babies first year, so I am happy to offer discount on the booking fees either for Maternity, Newborn or Sitter sessions when booked together - so you can have a gorgeous record of your babies first year.
​
You can pick to book two sessions, either a Maternity and Newborn Session or book all three: a Maternity, Newborn and Sitter Session.

How to Book
​
When you click through to book a newborn session there are two add on options:
​

Add on a maternity session and the booking fee will be £20 instead of £40. The remaining balance of £150 is due a week before the session. ​

Add on a sitter session for when baby starts to sit up and you can again save £20 on the booking fee. The remaining balance of £120 will be a due a week before the session.
